VIRTUOSO

negative pressure system for reducing infections in hospital rooms

INNO4COV-19

The Inno4COV-19 Evaluation Committee has evaluated the candidacy of the VIRTUOSO project favorably, NICFA will therefore receive European funding
for the study and implementation of this project.

Goal

The main objective of VIRTUOSO is
reduce the number of SARS-CoV-2 infections due to nosocomial transmission and consequently reduce the
number of healthcare workers affected by COVID19. To achieve this goal,
VIRTUOSO aims to develop a ventilation system for the insulation of hospital rooms housing patients
contagious.

The complete isolation of the environment
contaminated can be obtained scientifically by depressurizing it and then obtaining
lower pressure inside than outside the hospital room.
ADVANTAGES
  • Non-invasive installation
  • Activation based on real need
  • Operational safety
  • Continuous monitoring of parameters
  • Easy use
  • Cost effective

System composition

NICFA EVS ventilation unit, with absolute filters on both intake and delivery, which sucks in and filters the air from the room while maintaining the negative pressure;

NICFA NodeIO Control unit with: integrated management software, door opening control sensor, fan speed control, and corridor warning lights;

NICFA Touch HMI, which displays system parameters and allows system control/settings after entering a security code;

• Air intake for each bed in the hospital room

• An air blade above the door, powered by filtered recirculated air, which creates a barrier to limit air escape infectious. It also allows VIRTUOSO to detect the pressure drop when the door is open and modulates the air exchange rate
